Q. What results can I expect from treatment?
A. As the treatment is totally natural and is working with the body’s energy, you will feel revitalised all over and your general sense of well being will be improved – this is a fantastic alternative to medical and chemical treatments.
You will notice that lines on the face start to fade as treatment progresses and there is also a new firmness about the skin, which can be particularly evident in the jaw line, ”jowls’ and the sides of the cheeks. The whole face receives treatment at every session, but also specific areas can be targeted to focus on your requirements. This can be discussed at the initial consultation and also continuously throughout subsequent treatments.
In FEA we are using acupuncture points on other parts of the body other than the face, so you will notice benefits to your overall health and well being; patients have reported cases of muscle aches and pains that have improved and also some eye conditions have shown significant improvement after a number of treatments. Any specific conditions can be discussed at the initial consultation and if at all possible these conditions may be able to be addressed during the treatments.
Q. What areas of the face can treatment focus on?
This protocol will not give the dramatic results that are achieved by medical procedures, such as a face lift, and the same results should not be expected. We are, however, working with your own natural energies and a more subtle and refined improvement should be anticipated, safely and at a fraction of the cost of surgery and other treatments.
Areas we might wish to focus on during treatment may include:

We are all individuals and therefore react to treatment in totally different ways, it is always advisable to embark on a ‘course’ of treatment to maximise the effects of Facial Enhancement Acupuncture. However, improvements can be evident after the first treatment and many patients have reported significant enhancements in skin tone and quality after only three or four visits.
Patients can also undergo cosmetic acupuncture treatments as and when they feel they require them and they will notice a gradual improvement to their skin tone and condition as the treatments progress. These treatments can be carried out on a weekly basis or even a couple of times a week for more rapid results.
Q. How often should I come for treatment?
A. The initial appointment and treatment can take up to 90 minutes as a full medical history is taken and a specific treatment plan is tailored for you. This treatment plan may involve the use of other acupuncture treatments to help address any conditions that have become evident during the consultation. Thereafter, treatments will generally last 60-90 minutes. This initial 90 minute appointment is necessary, as this way a complete history can be compiled and can be updated after subsequent visits.
It is recommended that a course of treatment is undertaken to achieve the full benefits of Facial Enhancement Acupuncture. Packages of 5 and 10 treatments are available.

Q. Do the needles hurt?
A. The needles that are used for acupuncture and cosmetic treatment are very fine disposable needles. There is very little sensation when needled with them, and only a mild stinging feeling may be experienced on some occasions, in fact the whole experience of a treatment can be very relaxing in itself.
If you are unsure about the needles your practitioner can show you what is involved when you come for your consultation. Most people who have not had acupuncture before are surprisingly pleased at how fine the needles are.
There are no side effects evident after treatment, although there may be some localised bruising in some cases, but this is very minor and will not last long.
Q. Is this treatment suitable for me?
A. Perhaps you have considered facial surgery in the past but do not really want to go down that route, many different people can benefit from Facial Enhancement Acupuncture. Although the effects of acupuncture can be profound, they cannot replace the results of a surgical procedure, however the results should be more subtle and natural looking.
Your practitioner will check for any contraindications before commencing treatment and go through things with you during your initial consultation.
This treatment is great for treating skin problems such as acne or poor skin tone and works with the body to help combat these conditions from within. Patients will generally feel an all over improvement after treatment, both physically and spiritually.
